From the recording Overlander
This song was written after a private show on a family owned cattle ranch in Montana. We slept out in a pasture near the homestead. In the morning we toured the property and went high up on a mesa overlooking the property for as far as the eye could see. Our travels in 2020 and 2021 were supported by American Farmland Owner which is a brand that promote pride in land ownership and stewardship.
Lyrics
Follow the Land Line
Follow the land line, as far as the eye can see.
This is all mine, it is part of me
Where the horizon breaks and the mountains rise
I can tell you how, I can tell you why.
You can pass it by, or you can pass it on
You can pass it by, or you can pass it on
It’s a big sky, It’s the rolling hills
It’s a wild ride, while your standing still
I keep my heart close, close to the earth
I dig my hands deep, into the dirt
You can pass it by, or you can pass it on
It will still be there, when I’m gone
It’s a sunrise, It’s a harvest moon
It’s a century farm, it’s a scenic view
You can hold your land, or does your land hold you
What once was old, is as good as new.
You can pass it by, or you can pass it on
It will still be there, when I’m gone
You can pass it by, or you can pass it on
You can pass it by, or you can pass it on
